So……….how many pairs of shoes do YOU own?

25 Jun

I only ask cos I’m feeling like a bit of a freak at the moment. OK, OK, for those of you who know ShoesieQ it isn’t the first time, and almost certainly won’t be the last.

Anyway, I digress. The reason for this, ahem, sole searching, is because ShoesieQ has just found another one of those surveys that reveal the number of shoes owned by Ms Average Brit.

As some of you may recall last year ShoesieQ reported on a study by GoCompare that stated that the average British woman has 19 pairs of shoes at an average price of £35 each.  I have to admit now that I was a little sceptical. I mean, how much can we trust the people who brought us those godawful adverts with the moustachioed opera singer?

But now it seems that, perhaps, they weren’t so far off the mark.  Co-op Insurance has just released their own study which reckons we have 20 pairs of shoes costing an average of £36. Furthermore it seems we buy about 8 pairs per annum and keep each pair for an average of 3 years before binning them.

Having said that the Co-op found that about 10% of women spend more than £600 pa on keeping well shod. ShoesieQ is hoping that most of them live in the Cambridge and Saffron Walden area………..
